IA stated that, as the game continued to evolve, its size and scope has become such that it needs much more time to develop and gestate, and that the team itself needed time to hone their skills before tackling such an immense project. The Quest for Infamy was in 'suspended production' for many years, with the the game's status listed as on hold. Quest for Infamy: So You Want to be a Villain? was first announced around December 2003, and the game was to be set within the Quest for Glory universe.
